Amy Haupert

Amy grew up in South Whitley, Indiana on her parent's farm. She lived there until she was hired by Indiana State Police. Amy spent 10 years as an Indiana State Trooper. While a Trooper, she attended IUPUI and Ball State University where she majored in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. As a Trooper she was working the Indianapolis 500 and was approached by the CEO of American United Life, Jerry Semler. Jerry recruited her to be a Sales Representative for their company with a specific focus on Governmental Agencies and employees. Amy resigned as an Indiana State Trooper and worked with AUL for three years. In 2001, she left AUL as an employee and started her own business Midwest Deferred Compensation Specialists, Inc. Amy has worked throughout the state of Indiana and has sold many governmental contracts utilizing her relationship with One America for the majority of her business. In 2008, Amy and Michael McGee merged their businesses and continued building a successful partnership. 

Today, Amy still enjoys working with public safety employees. As a result of her background, she is still very passionate about the mission of the business. In her spare time, Amy enjoys spending time at her and her husband's cabin in Switzerland County and returning to the family farm to work with her nephews who continue the legacy left by her dad. Amy and Alex have one daughter, two grandchildren, nine very special nieces and nephews, and five dogs. The dog pictured, Badge, is one of Amy's five dogs and is the official FOP mascot, he attends work and other FOP social events with her.  

Mike McGee

Michael McGee grew up in Highland, Indiana with his parents and three sisters. As a kid, he was always involved in some sort of team sport. He picked up playing tennis in high school and went on to play for four years in college. He attended Taylor University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. A couple of days after graduation, Mike set out to Colorado to work on a working dude ranch called Lost Valley Ranch. He worked there for about a year and a half before deciding he wanted to do something more stable. His father had been in the insurance industry for 30 plus years and invited Mike to work alongside him. In 1994, Mike started his career as a financial advisor. In 2008, Mike merged his practice with Amy Haupert where they specialize in both worksite and individual retirement planning. In 2010, he completed the education and testing to become a fee-based planner.

 

Today, Mike still really enjoys his time both at work and time away with his family. He has two children, a daughter, Reiley, who is a college student at the University of Indianapolis, and a son, Ethan, who is a sophomore at the IU Kelley School of Business. Mike really enjoys being active with his son’s soccer team but will be seen out on his bike or working out. 

Owen Atkison

Owen Atkison grew up in Franklin, Indiana with his parents and 2 brothers. He played soccer for the University of Indianapolis, winning two GLVC championships and a regional championship making it to the NCAA D2 Final Four in 2021. He graduated from the University of Indianapolis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and an MBA. As a senior, he received the Dean James Conrad Finance Award for the top finance student at UIndy. After working through college as a financial planning assistant at Harvest Investment Services, Mike approached him to come on at MDCS.

As of May 2023, Owen is a financial representative.

Away from work, he enjoys coaching youth soccer, volunteering at his church, and card collecting.

Megan Hidlebaugh

Megan Hidlebaugh is the Executive Assistant at Midwest Deferred Comp since February 2019. She received a Bachelor of Communications degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2010. Megan relocated from Ohio to Indianapolis, IN in 2010.
